About Barnala Tal
Barnala Tal is located in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. It is located at a distance of 4 km from Barsu Village, which means that Baralatal can be only reached by walking the 4km distance.
This place serves as a campsite for Dayara Bugyal trekkers. Dayara Bugyal is 4 km above from Barnala Tal.
This paradise-like place is situated at an altitude of about 3000 meters above sea level. In winter, the minimum temperature here is up to -10 and maximum up to 7 ℃.
A temple of Nagraj near Tal is also situated. Another small Tal is also situated at a distance of 100 meters from Barnala Tal.
Barnala Tal winter trek guide
The route of Barnala Tal trekking starts from Barasu Village of Uttarkashi. The Tal is located at a distance of 4 km from Barsu Village which takes 3-4 hours. If you do not have any rucksack/heavy backpack then this distance can be completed in 2 hours.
In the winter season, the temperature drops below -15 ℃ at night, so it is extremely important that you take warm clothes with you.
Things to remember during the trek
- Do not trek at night – You can wander the route while trekking at night.
- Consult your doctor- Due to high altitude, this place may cause oxygen problems. Therefore it is important to take the advice of your doctor before going to Barnala.
How to reach Barnala Tal
The journey of Barnala starts from Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. Ome can reach Dehradun via rail or airplane. Dehradun airport and railway route are well connected to many major cities of the country. After reaching Dehradun, you can either go to Barnala through booking a taxi or by public transport which will take you to Barasu village of Uttarkashi.
Barnala trekking starts from Barasu Village. From here you have to trek 4 km distance to reach Barnala. it takes 2-3 hour to cover this distance (if you don’t have any weight with you) otherwise it will take 4-5 hours (if you have rucksack).
