Best zone for tiger sighting in Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve

Uttarakhand is in second place in tiger conservation throughout India. In Jim Corbett National Park there are more than 200 tigers. But spotting a tiger is a kind of game. The Jim Corbett National Park is divided into 6 zones. But the Tigers do not know this, they can roam around anywhere. Therefore, it can not be confirmed that tigers can be seen in a particular area. However, based on the camera traps, the park officials say that Dhikala and Bijrani are the best zone for tiger sighting in Jim Corbett National Park.

The best way to spot a tiger is to leave the campsite early in the morning. Because tigers and other animals later do not appear near the road by the noise of the vehicle.

Entry Gate

The entry gate of Dhikala Zone is Dhangarhi which is 18 km away from Ramnagar.

Safari Timing

During Summers: Morning – 6:00 am to 9:30 am, Evening – 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

Durig Winters: Morning – 7:00 am to 10:00 am, Evening – 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

Dhikala Zone is the largest zone of Jim Corbett National Park. Most of the visitor starts there safari from Dhikala Zone or the visitor prefer to visit Dhikala Zone. Most of the tigers in Jim Corbett are seen in the Dhikala Zone. If you do not see the tiger on the first day, then you can patrol the next day in the Dhikala zone. Dhikala is considered as the best zone for tiger sighting in Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve because the Ramganga river flows on the left side of the road where tigers often come to drink water.

The entry gate of Dhikala Zone is Aamdanda which is 2 km away from Ramnagar.

Durig Winters: Morning – 7:00 am to 10:00 am, Evening – 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

If the visitors do not get to see the tiger in the Dhikala zone then they should move towards the Bijrani zone.

Dhikala zone along with Bijrani zone is the best zone for tiger sighting in Jim Corbett national park. In other zones such as Jhirna, Durga Devi, Dhela and Sonanadi, visitors can also get a view of the tiger, but there are lesser possibilities as compare to the Dhikala and Bijarani zones.
