Haridwar Kankhal Story
This place was once the capital of Prajapati Daksh. Prajapati Daksh was then the ruler of the Universe and on his orders, other Prajapati used to rule. Prajapati was so brave that at that time nothing was possible without his wish.
One day Prajapati Daksh organized a huge Yagya in his capital Kankhal. According to the Puranas, such a Yagya has never happened. In that Yagya all the creator of that time Sage-Muni, Deity, Prajapati were invited, but Prajapati Daksh did not invite Mahadev Shankar (Lord Shiva). Sage-Munis questioned Prajapati that why he did not send the invitation to Lord. Shiva is not only the God of gods, but he was also the son-in-law of Prajapati Daksh.
When Daksha’s daughter Sati came to know that he did not send the invitation to his son-in-law she got angry. In angry Sati reaches his father’s yagya and upon reaching there, Daksh humiliates Shiva.
