Kandoliya Temple Pauri is located in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand state. This temple is one of the oldest temples of Pauri town. Surrounded by oaks and pine trees, this temple is the favorite destination for the tourist and local people. Kandoliya Mandir is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Kandoliya Mandir is situated at an elevation of 1700 meters from sea level and is located 1.7 km from Pauri Bus Station. The Himalayan Paranomic view can be seen from any part of Pauri.
The Temple complex offers beautiful views of the town, as well as the temple premises also offers a panoramic view of Himalayan peaks.
A park is also there for the children to play near the temple known as Kandoliya Park. At a distance of 500 meters from the temple, there is also a field called Kandoliya Ground. Football competition is organized on this ground in summers. A large number of the audience come here to see the football tournament.
Every year a huge “Bhandara” is organized in this temple. This Bhandara is celebrated for 2 days, “Jagran”(waking and worshipping whole night) is performed on the first night, in which the recitation (Bhajan-Kirtan) is performed. The next morning, the devotees from far and near places come here to visit the Kandoliya Devta. A small fair is also held on that day, nearby the temple every year.
History Kandoliya Temple Pauri
It is believed that idol of Lord Shiva was brought by the locals from Kumaun region to Pauri district, in a basket (i.e “Kandi”, in local language). And therefore the temple is named “Kandoliya Temple”. Another name for the temple in Kumaun district is “Golu Devta Temple“.

Once reaching the Pauri bus station, to reach Kandoliya Mahadev Temple Pauri, there will be a walking distance of 1.7. If you have your own vehicle then the temple can also be visited by the vehicle. One can ask the path of Kandoliya Mandir to any local resident of the town.
If you do not have any vehicle and you cannot walk on foot, you can book a taxi from Pauri Bus Station and visit the temple and all other nearby sights.
The nearest railway station from this place is Kotdwara railway station which is 107 km far from this place. Jolly Grant airport is 130 km far from this place.
