Kyunkaleshwar Mahadev Temple is located in Pauri town a district headquarter of Pauri District, Uttarakhand. This temple was established in the 8th century by Adi Guru Sankaracharya during his visit to Pauri. This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The look and Architecture if this temple is somewhat similar to that of Kedarnath Temple. This temple is situated at the height of 2000 meters above sea level on Alaknanda Valley. This place is an ideal place for doing meditation and yoga. The temple complex offers a wonderful view of the beautiful mountains covered with snow.
The temple is located away from the city’s crowd. Where you hear only the sounds of birds and air. The idols of Lord Shiva, Mata Parvati, Lord Ganesha, Kartikey, Lord Ram, Mata Sita, and Lakshman Ji have been placed in the inner part of this temple.
A large number of devotees come here to the festival of Maha Shivaratri, during this time ‘Bhandara’ is also organized here.

Once reaching the Pauri bus station, to reach Kyunkaleshwar Mahadev Temple, there is a distance of 4.1 km. If you are fond of trekking, then the distance can be covered road by trek. The temple can also be reached by vehicle, after which by some 500 meters walk you can reach this beautiful place. You can also hire a cab from the bus station to reach the temple.
The nearest railway station from this place is Kotdwara railway station which is 107 km far from this place. Jolly Grant airport is 130 km far from this place.
