Ram Tal Horticultural Garden (locally known as Choli Thaath) is a tropical garden situated 12 km from Chakrata near Nagou Village in Uttarakhand. There are very colorful and fragrant flowers in this garden. Here the air is absolutely fresh, due to which a unique positivity comes by walking in this garden. This place is the best for spending 2-3 hours with your loved one. This garden looks like a Bugyal, from the top one can see the view of the beautiful valley and villages.

This garden is rich with various flora and fauna, surrounded by lush green grass, trees, and singing birds. There are also trees of apple here and is a home of species like the oriental turtle dove, black-headed jay and, grey treepie. There is also a pond located in Ram Tal Horticultural Garden, which is only filled with water during rainy season.

A Monument is situated on the side of the Ram Tal which is dedicated to Amar Shahid Veer Kesari Chand. On 3rd May every year, the Jaunsari people (a tribe of Uttarakhand, like Garhwali and Kumauni) celebrate Chauli Bisu or Choli ka Mela in memory of this brave freedom fighter.

The visitors can do multiple activities there. Children can play the game in this huge garden, whereas nature and wildlife lover can capture the flora and fauna in their camera. This place is located in a very peaceful location which is ideal for doing Yoga and Meditation.

How to reach Ram Tal Garden

The Ram Tal Horticultural Garden is located 12 km away from Chakrata, on Chakrata-Mussoorie route. The nearest railway station from this garden is Dehradun railway station (80 km) and the nearest airport is Jollygrant airport Dehradun (105 km). From the railway station and airport, the visitors can hire a cab to reach the garden. Cabs are also available from Chakrata to Ram Tal Horticultural Garden. If you are in your own vehicle then you can use GPS or take help of any local to reach the garden.
